The minors are essentially glorified storage lockers for prospects. There’s no meaningful management, no coaching system, and very little reason to actually engage.
Why can’t we hire and fire AA/AAA managers? Why aren’t there minor league promotions or All-Star games? Why isn’t there a development plan interface where we can target skills for each player?
Games like OOTP let you dive into every aspect of farm development. In The Show, you’re lucky if a player improves at all, and even then it’s mostly just attribute randomness.
Give us training assignments. Give us individualized progress goals. Give us a reason to care about our farm system, not just wait until a guy hits 75 OVR and call him up.
