U4GM - The Problem with POE 2’s Currency Economy and Trade Systems

Managing "poe 2 currency" in Path of Exile 2 is complicated by the current trade and economy systems, which many players find frustrating. Unlike POE 1, where players could buy map juice (scarabs, fossils, etc.) directly from NPC vendors, POE 2 requires players to purchase unique tablets from other players, making the process costly and tedious. This reliance on player-to-player trade for essential map resources adds unnecessary friction to the gameplay loop.

The introduction of unique tablets is a novel idea, but the constant need to buy them from trade markets detracts from the game’s flow. The previous system was more straightforward and less punishing, allowing players to acquire map-enhancing items more easily. Restoring the ability to purchase map juice directly from NPCs or simplifying the tablet system would reduce the grind and make currency management less of a chore, encouraging more players to engage with the endgame content actively.
